Folke Engholm Paris 2020

Currently based in Shenzhen, China, Folke Engholm is a result-driven entrepreneur with broad experience in most aspects of management, sales, business development and in particular – rich experience from the core aspects of start-ups go-to-market strategy and sales execution.

While studying his master’s degree in international business at Bond University, Australia, Folke earned a scholarship to attend his last semester at China’s number one university, Tsinghua University in Beijing.

Born and raised in Märsta, a suburban area in Stockholm, the business has always come naturally to Folke ever since his childhood. ”One of my first business deals was when I broke my Santa Cruz skateboard in half and sold the better half with a pair of new trucks for a profitable price.” Starting a business in his teens, Folke’s first company taught him a lot of things. Most importantly, he learned to make every cent count, a motto that would help him to grow as an entrepreneur.

Since then, he has been involved in various projects. He successfully introduced the contemporary lifestyle brand, d.brand into the US market and helped Daniel Wellington with their Asian entry.

In 2013, Shenzhen, China, he founded Viral Access, which today is known as Asia’s leading Micro-KOL company. Thanks to an early identification of a market set to boom, a strong team delivering excellent performance, and great support from its clients, Viral Access has grown to maintain its position as market leaders. Today, Viral Access has a team of over 150 staff, working together with over 10,000,000 Micro-influencers to run client-based campaigns adding thousands of Micro-influencers per month to its network.

Folke likes to view himself as a coach and believes in efficient & flat organizations. He also highly values the spirit of teamwork and believes there must be a do-no-evil aspect in all business activities. People might think that his role as CEO and Founder of Viral Access comes first, but his main role is being a family man, to be a good husband and a father to his two kids.

When he finds the time, he tries to either play tennis, squash or golf.
